Overview

Pürgschachen Moor. 09/09/91; Steiermark; 62 ha; 47°35'N 014°21'E. Protected Landscape Area. A raised peat bog in the basin of a post-glacial lake surrounded by peatland and damp meadows, interspersed with coniferous woodland. The site supports a range of rare or biogeographically important plant species, specialized and relict invertebrate species and is particularly important for its insects.
